Do you have a math genius who wants to show off their knowledge in a national competition? Matsumoto Elementary offers several programs your child will enjoy.

Math Kangaroo is an international mathematics contest designed to inspire students in grades K–12 to develop problem-solving skills and mathematical thinking.

  • Math Kangaroo exams are held annually in March

  • Registration opens in September, please check back for more information.

  • Math Kangaroo is open to grades 1-6.

Mathematical Olympiad for Elementary and Middle School (MOEMS) is a fun-filled international math competition programs designed to teach multiple strategies for out-of-the-box problem solving, develop mathematical flexibility in solving those problems, and foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity.

  • MOEMS consists of 5 monthly contests, held monthly starting in November and ending in March. Exact test dates are TBD and will be announced by our administrators.

  • MOEMS is open to grades 4-6.

AMC8 is a national math competition providing a foundation in logical thinking, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics. It’s the first official step in the U.S. math competition track, helping students build problem-solving skills and prepare for future contests like the AMC 10, AIME, and USA(J)MO.

  • AMC8 registration will open in October, please check back here for more information and details.

  • Testing occurs in January.

  • AMC8 is open to 6 grade only.
